Tip #1: Take icy cold showers and baths.
This is a great trick. Your body burns many more calories when you're cold. Also, you're parents will never know you're taking cold showers!
Tip #2: Make yourself hate food.
Open the fridge, and talk to food. Say things like, "Ew, chocolate is disgusting!" It may be a lie now, but soon you'll be speaking the truth! You convince your mind you actually do hate chocolate, or any food.
Tip #3: Dance instead of cardio.
Yes, cardio and strength training are definatly the biggest part of pro-ana exercise. But sometimes, you just don't want to go to the gym. Put on some fast beat music and dance for 30 minutes! It's fun, and great exercise. You can also jump on a trampoline for exercise.
Tip #4: Feel a binge coming on?
The moment you feel a longing for food, follow these steps: First, distance yourself from food. Take a walk (or run!), and get as far away from food as possible.
Second, log into a pro-ana site (like my own) and browse through the thinspiration photos.
Thirdly, look at yourself in a mirror naked, that will make you second guess whether you really want that brownie or not. Remember, empty is good. Empty is strong.
Tip #5: Incorporate exercise into your daily life.
What is something that you do everyday, no matter what? Brushing your teeth? Showering? Exercise while doing somthing that you always do. Do leg lifts while watching TV, or do situps in the shower.
Tip #6: Reverse a binge.
After a binge, you feel guilty and pissed that you ate so much. Get rid of it. If you're like me, you can't puke on demand. Ever heard of the bananna and Sprite challenge? Eat two banannas as fast as you can, directly followed by 2 cans of Sprite or 7 Up. This makes you vomit, no matter what. (Risk Warning: Consistant induce-vomitting over long periods of time can cause severe damage to your stomach and esophagus, as well as erotion of tooth enamel.)
Tip #7: Take your time.
Cut your food into small peices and chew every peice until it's almost a liquid. This teaches your body to learn to be patient and to not over eat.
Tip #8: Set long-term and short-term goals.
Long-term goals are weight goals that are the biggest. For example, your long term goal may be 95 pounds, so you set a short-term goal at 120, so once you reach that goal, you lower it until you reach 95. This allows you to stay on track and gives you something to celebrate from time to time.
Tip #9: Never eat school lunch.
At school, your parents have no way of knowing if you ate lunch. Never eat anything at lunchtime, instead use your lunch money to buy awards for losing weight. (No food rewards!)
Tip #10: Memorize calorie, fat, sugar, and carb charts. Your parents will get suspicious if you're constantly checking the food labels, so print off different charts from the internet. Also this will help you order the best dish at a resteraunt.
